Mississippi Republican State Convention
Republican delegates, alternates, and guests from all over the State
met in May to do the business of the Party. One resolution passed
of particular interest to RLCers dealt with maintaining a "strict
constructionist" view of the US Constitution.

Jesse Ellis, and Chris Stamper are all members of the RLC. Liberty
is looking better in Mississippi!

Greg Davis for the 1st District
Mayor Greg Davis of Southaven is vying for the 1st District Congressional
seat. His platform includes "advocating policies that strengthen
our economy by focusing on lower taxes, a simpler tax code, fewer
regulations, and less government red tape." More information

McCay Launches bid for 4th District
John McCay III, held a kick-off in Gulfport in March. McCay (R)
will be challenging the incumbent Democrat Gene Tayor for the 4th
US Congressional seat. McCay's platform looks very promising and
is 100% in line with the RLC. More information can be found on his

Freedom Rally on the Coast
Holding a flag along US Highway 90 in Biloxi, an RLC member is
counted among the Ron Paul grassroots movement. Promoting a return
to constitutional values and liberty is chief among their concerns.
Billed as the "Biloxi Ron Fire" about a hundred activists
gathered to wave signs at vehicles, grill-out, and fellowship the
day before the Mississippi primary in March.

Liberty Grassroots in Mississippi
This past year has shown a resurgence of Republican grassroots
support in our state. Both the Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee camps
have inspired hundreds to forego the usual campaigning styles to
hitting the streets. Even more uplifting is that the majority of
this movement is made up of liberty minded Republicans.
